Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Montessori?

Montessori is a method of teaching designed by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1907. It focuses on a child centered learning approach. You can read more about it in my blog post “The Montessori Classroom Explained”

2. Do I need to buy expensive teaching materials?

No, definitely not. Each Montessori classroom has several activities that are expensive but you can work with DIY activities and what you have in your home. We show how to make your own pieces in this blog.

3. I’m not a teacher, can I still do this?

Yes, definitely. You already are your child’s number one teacher. This blog helps you with ideas on simple easy to implement activities

4. My child doesn’t go to a Montessori school, will he be confused?

No, definitely not. Children are equipped with a special brain Dr, Montessori refers it as “The Absorbent mind” which means children’s brains are designed to learn and absorb information at a rapid rate that is much faster than an adult. The more you teach the more they absorb.
